Soil

Soil

If you wanna keep it simple, soil is for you! This growing medium allows you to grow naturally and is great for beginners because mistakes can be repaired more easily than in other growing medium.

We recommend starting with lightmix, also called potting mix and adding your nutrients separately.

Composting or living-soil is a more advanced way of growing organically in soil(more on that soon :)).

⚠ Caution: do NOT use soils with slow release nutrients, they are not formulated for cannabis.

Soilless

Soilless

Soilless growing refers to a process of growing without using soil, you are responsible for giving water solution containing nutrients and pH levels adjustment from start to finish; making soilless growing a bit more difficult for beginners.

Instead of soil with dust you will find mixed soilless also called inert growing medium which contain coco, peat and vermiculite, but it can also be used as a stand-alone medium for potted plants. Cause of its inert properties a soilless medium need to get nutrients and control pH from start and forget about organic grow.

Rockwool is a soilless medium too, it's not only for construction ;) but mostly used for hydroponics mediums. The good thing with soiless medium is that encourage maximum aeration and root exposure to the nutrients that involve your plant will be bigger and will grow faster than in soil, if well executed.

If you wanna try soilless medium we suggest you to start with mixed soilless which contain coco cause of its good water retention and its renewable.

Hydroponic

Hydroponic

Sure your heard this word thousand times just thinking it s good quality, but not only, this kind of culture has became really popular cause of its fast and massive results, it's a "full-control" system. As you can control all parameters you will need some knowledge about pH control, nutrients for hydroponic and get a special setup, for those reasons it’s a bit difficult when you are beginning, but nothing is impossible.

About soil, in hydro there you can find a lots of different systems for soils but we can separate them in two major categories:

- hydroponic system without any solid growing medium, plant’s roots are directly into the water solution containing nutrients with a special setup for oxygenation.
- hydroponic system with hydroponic growing medium like rockwool, clay pebbles or perlite with a special setup for watering like drippers or bubblers.

You can do a combination of those two systems it’s also common in hydro like your plant grow in clay pebbles suspended in a tank where root system is inside a tank into a water solution. Care if you are going into this, setup for hydroponic can become expansive.

Growing with this method is a step for growers and for micro-grow lots of people tried with good and bad results, just try it, experience make the difference.
